Advertising Age in the Top Ten Trends to Watch in 2007 listed “social networking” as #2, saying:
“Whether it be MySpace or YouTube or even sites that haven’t launched yet, an uptick in marketing via social networks is a livelihood. Even more established portals such as MSN and Yahoo are likely venues for those looking to have a deeper presence in an area that is only beginning to be explored.”
Combine this with what I wrote in my PRWeek editorial:
“Business Wire has optimized our press release delivery, focused on direct-to-consumer delivery and stretched the bounds of the multimedia press release.”
“What’s significant about social media is that we’re communicating with the public of one. We are attempting to influence the influencer.”
